The Thermo Scientific MaxQ 416 High Performance Orbital Shaker is built for continuous, high-capacity use in demanding laboratory environments, including reach-in incubators, environmental chambers, benchtops, and CO2-rich conditions. Its CO2-resistant design ensures reliable performance in controlled atmosphere applications, making it well-suited for cell culture and other sensitive research. Equipped with a rugged, triple-counterbalanced drive system, the shaker delivers smooth, stable motion and eliminates vibration or “walking,” even with heavy or unevenly distributed loads up to 70.5 lb. (32 kg). The wide speed range of 25 to 400 RPM with ± 1 RPM accuracy and a 1 in. (2.54 cm) orbit provides versatility across multiple protocols, while the low-heat 24V DC motor and moisture-resistant electronics support maintenance-free, 24/7 operation.
User-friendly programming is enabled by a microprocessor controller with icon-based keys and a 20-character backlit LCD that simultaneously displays setpoints and run data. Oversized suction-cup feet maximize stability and reduce vibration, while the spill-resistant, durable construction enhances safety in long-term use. Optional heavy-duty anodized aluminum platforms, measuring 18 x 24 in. (45.7 x 60.9 cm), provide ample capacity and are easy to clean, ensuring lasting performance in high-throughput labs. With a timer adjustable from 5 minutes to 200 hours, or continuous mode, the MaxQ 416 offers the reliability, durability, and flexibility required for consistent results in high-performance orbital shaking applications.
All of our equipment will be fully tested to perform at factory specifications before being shipped.

- Validate that the power supply and PCB deliver stable, correct voltage outputs across all necessary connections, ensuring reliable operation
- Thoroughly inspect the display for any dim, flickering, or dead pixels; replace affected elements to maintain full readability and operational clarity
- Test the full range of button functionality, confirming responsive, accurate input recognition across all settings
- Conduct a detailed inspection of bearings and bearing housing, identifying any worn or damaged bearings, and replace as needed to prevent operational disruption
- Examine the drive belt for signs of cracking, fraying, or material breakdown; replace as required to ensure sustained performance
- Measure and adjust motor drive belt tension to optimal specifications, securing reliable and efficient power transmission
- Verify accuracy of the onboard timer, confirming proper functionality and replacing if it deviates from expected performance
- Calibrate shaker rotation speed with a NIST-traceable tachometer, validating precision within specified operational limits
- Run the shaker continuously for an 8-12 hour testing period, closely observing the shaking platform for smooth, consistent motion, while monitoring for any error indicators such as knocking, skipping, or unusual vibrations
- Perform a comprehensive cosmetic inspection to confirm the device’s exterior meets aesthetic and quality standards, free from visible damage or wear
