The GE AKTA F9-C Fraction Collector is a versatile and high-throughput solution engineered for seamless integration with the AKTA Pure chromatography system. Designed to accommodate a wide variety of laboratory workflows, the F9-C can collect up to 576 fractions using deep well plates, tubes, and bottles of various sizes. It supports a wide range of vessel formats including 24-, 48-, and 96-well deep well plates, as well as 3 ml, 5 ml, 8 ml, 15 ml, and 50 ml tubes, and even 250 ml bottles with the corresponding cassettes or trays. Fractions ranging from 0.1 ml to 250 ml can be collected, offering flexibility for both small- and large-volume applications.
The system includes automatic spillage-free collection modes: Automatic, Drop Sync, and Accumulator, which ensure loss-free operation across the full flow rate range of up to 50 ml/min. The F9-C features smart automation with an integrated type code reader that identifies cassette, tray, and rack formats to minimize user errors and streamline the setup process. Cassettes can be arranged in any combination of up to six positions on a tray, allowing for customizable configurations based on your lab’s specific needs.
Collection modes include row-by-row, column-by-column, and serpentine options to support various fractionation strategies. The enclosed design protects samples from dust and external contaminants while also providing a stable surface for placing additional labware or instrumentation on top. For workflows requiring minimal delay volume, an optional tubing kit is available to reduce the UV-dispenser head delay volume from 205 ul to just 86 ul. With its wide accessory compatibility and reliable automated functionality, the AKTA F9-C is an ideal choice for labs seeking precision, scalability, and flexibility in fraction collection.
